How to Clear Browsing History on Android Chrome Browser
Google Chrome is one of the most commonly used mobile web browsers that comes installed on Android devices by default. If you haven't installed and if you are not using any other web browser app on your phone or tablet, that means you are using Chrome as your default browser on your Android device.
One of the useful features of web browsers is the Browsing History, which is a mechanism that keeps a log of any websites and domains that you visit, any pages you open and any searches you make, while browsing online. The history of your browser also saves web cookies, styles, scripts, images, usernames and passwords (if you allowed to do so), form entries and other similar things in the browser cache. The browsers keep all those things in their memory to improve your overall browsing experience, especially for easily finding your previously visited web pages, for saving time when revisiting websites and for not repeating some certain tasks such as logging in, adjusting preferences etc.
Though web browsing history may often be quite useful, there are also times where it may get annoying and turn into something that you want to get rid of, or even prevent the browser to keep tracking your further activities. In such times, it is nice to know that browsers do allow you to clear the browsing history totally.
You may need to delete your browsing history for any reason such as your personal privacy, testing some web pages or files, cleaning up your browser from suspicious scripts or cookies and so on. On Android Chrome, it is quite easy to clear your browsing history, which we will show how to do step by step below.

This will open a dropdown menu with a number of options such as new tab, new incognito tab, bookmarks, settings and history.
STEP 3: Tap on the History link to open the history page of Chrome. You can also go to the history page, by typing chrome://history into the address bar at the top.
This is where you can see a list of your previously visited web pages and some options.
STEP 4: When you are ready to clear the history, tap on the Clear Browsing Data button.
This will open the confirmation screen where you can select the period to delete the browsing data, we selected beginning of time to clear from the beginning, and specify which items you want deleted from the history, including browsing history, cookies and site data, cached images and files, saved passwords and autofill form data. As you also see from the note at the bottom of this confirmation screen, some saved site settings will not be deleted.
STEP 5: Select the timeframe and items that you want to delete and tap the Clear Data button.
The data stored in Chrome browser history will be deleted and from this point forward, you can continue browsing with a fresh history.
Keep in mind that if you have any bookmarks saved on your Android device, they won't be affected by clearing the browser history. You can still export your bookmarks if you prefer to do so, before or after clearing your history.
