How to Install YouTube App on Android

Can't you find the YouTube app on your Android phone or tablet? Is it somehow uninstalled or deleted? In this post, I will show you how to install the YouTube mobile app on Android devices in simple steps.

YouTube is one of the top 10 most visited websites and a highly popular video sharing website where you can listen to music for free, watch funny videos, news, informative videos, product reviews, how-to tutorials, live streams and more.

YouTube is also available as a mobile application that can be downloaded and installed on smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, game consoles and other mobile devices. The YouTube app is available for various mobile operating systems such as Android, iOS, Windows Mobile, Blackberry and Nokia.

TIP: You can find detailed information about the devices and systems that are supported by the YouTube app on this page.

The YouTube app comes installed on Android devices by default, that's because both Android and YouTube are Google's products. As a default system app, it can't be uninstalled by following the regular steps you would follow for uninstalling apps on Android. But even the system apps may be removed from your device this way or that way, for a number of reasons such as you don't use them, you need to create space for other apps or files, your toddler watches inappropriate videos on it without your consent and so on.

Sometimes, mobile users may also remove the YouTube app from their devices for privacy reasons, which may really not be necessary. If you need some privacy while using YouTube, you can disable your search history and disable your watch history, so that even if someone logs in to your account somehow, they won't be able to see what videos you searched for and watched on YouTube. Also, for better protecting your YouTube account or Google Play Store account, always choose strong passwords.

We will leave the reasons for not having the YouTube app on your Android device to you and continue with how to install it.

If you are sure you don't have the YouTube app installed on your device, continue with the following steps.

STEP 1: Grab your phone and open the Google Play Store by tapping on its icon.

If you can't see the icon for Google Play Store on your homescreen, check the apps screen. Also note that this will require you to have a Google Play Store account, so if you don't have one, simply create an account.
