In this post, I will make a list of 10 highly useful extensions that I think all web designers must have, that will help with their online and web design tasks.
While carrying out your web design and development related activities, you are most probably using a number of design tools to simplify some certain tasks and improve your productivity. There are countless desktop and online tools that you can use while working on your website design projects but you can complement that tools with a nice list of useful browser extensions that will save you a lot of time. After all, websites are designed to be displayed and tested in web browsers, making browser extensions highly valuable tools to have in your toolset.

10 Great Chrome Extensions for Web Designers
I compiled this list based on the functionality, total users and average rating of the extensions. There are surely many more nice extensions that a web designer may find to be useful but these are among the most popular ones and they each do a specific task.
If you are working with colors frequently in your design work, ColorZilla may become an indispensable tool for you. It provides an advanced eyedropper, a color picker, color analyzer, palette browser, gradient generator and other useful things that come to mind related to colors. ColorZilla allows you to quickly grab color values from any point on a web page, convert it between RGB and Hex values easily and keep a history of your picked colors.

If you are living with fonts, WhatFont is the extension you wouldn't want to miss. WhatFont helps you identify the fonts on web pages and gives detailed information about the text such as font family, font size, color, line height and the source of the font. Once installed, you can simply hover over any text element on a page to get its font details.

3. Page Ruler
Page Ruler is a great extension for measuring the size (width & height) of elements on a web page. By drawing horizontal and vertical rulers, Page Ruler allows you to get pixel dimensions of HTML elements and help with their positioning. You can easily draw a ruler on any page and get information about an element's width and height, as well as its top, right, bottom and left position.
