How to Add a Favicon to Your Wordpress Blog
In this post, I will show you how to add a favicon to your WordPress blog.
Favicon is the small image that is shown on the title bar of a web browser when you visit a website. You can see a sample favicon below:
Not all the websites use a favicon, but know that adding a favicon to your site, whether it is personal or business related, is a good way of branding and personalization. Also it makes it easier for people to remember your site. People tend to remember images more than text. In this post I will show you how to add a favicon to your Wordpress blog.
Apparently, you will need a favicon at first. The size of a standard favicon is 16x16 pixels. You can either use free ready-to-use favicons or create it yourself or have someone design it for you.

Once you have your favicon ready, you can continue with inserting it to your site following the steps below:
1. Open Wordpress admin panel of your site.
2. Go to Appearance > Editor and choose Header (header.php) file.
3. Insert the following code:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.png">
Simply replace favicon.png with your favicon image file.
